Bow Types:
1. Straight plumb or vertical. The oldest type, it
offers the most resistance to the sea.
2. Raking or sloping, and curved and raking. Angle
varies greatly. Clipper or cable bows come within this
group.
3. Maier. An outward curve, all rounded and not
“sitting” on the water.
