DAMAGE  CONTROL  EXERCISE Scenario The commanding officer has ordered the ship to general quarters  soon  after  a  class  Alfa  fire  is  reported  in compartment     1-116-0-L,     the     operations     berthing compartment. Two crew members who reported the fire tried  to  put  it  out  with  CO2  and  then  water  from  a nearby fire station. Since the two crew members did not don   OBAs   (oxygen   breathing   apparatus),   they   were forced to abandon their effort quickly because of dense, white smoke. The ship has been at general quarters for approximately  5  minutes.
