If part of the address is missing, write the
missing information on the item and deliver the
item (see figure 11-23).
If a name or address cannot be found, return the
item to the sender endorsed ATTEMPTED,
NOT KNOWN.
If the address is unreadable, return the item to the
sender endorsed ILLEGIBLE.
First-Class Mail received from a mailer in
quantities of 20 or more, addressed insufficiently or
wrong, or containing an obviously incorrect or
identical receptacle number used simply to obtain
directory service will be returned to the sender
endorsed INSUFFICIENT ADDRESS.
Mail
received from mailers who continuously mail
quantities of less than 20 letters simply to circumvent
the procedure given above, will also be returned to the
sender endorsed INSUFFICIENT ADDRESS.
